Kitchen:
microwave, toaster or toaster oven, dishes, utensils, few pots and pans, dish soap, dish towels
Bathroom:
towels, beauty supplies, cleaning supplies for tub/shower...
I was lucky, when I first moved out my mother said that she would pay for my first grocery bill. I used that trip to buy items like soap, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, ketchup & mustard...basically anything I could think of that are more expensive items that I would end up needing all at once. That way when I had to do my groceries, I just had to buy food.

Not sure if this is unique to you. Organization cabinets. If you have enough money for rent, bills, food, gas, medical expenses, and still have enough money left over at the end of the month for personal spending, work on your closet, if you don't already have some type of organization for it. Ikea has a lot of great products if you want more "hip" stuff, but you can find plastic bins and cloth laundry hampers just about anywhere, Target if you want to save money.
If you have your own laundry room, work on organization cabinets/bins for that room so you'll have a nice flow going when you need to do laundry. Also with your bathroom. If you own your own place, like a condo or home you can renovate it, so do some custom built shelving or cabinets.
If you have a large room that you would like to be two seperate rooms, get some shoji screens (Japanese screens), you can set up two at either end of a wall that way there is an entrance into the other divided half of the room.
There really are endless possibilities and it's hard to answer a question with very little detail. What do you already have? What don't you have that you would need?
