Well..yes. I've had an experience last year that made the hair raise on my head. while driving on an errand, I made observation of someone's nice landscaping in their yard. while at a stop sign on a nice & rare sunny day, a charcole black, and what looked like a contained racing puff of smoke went from a large rock then to disapate behind a sapling pine tree. a rare thing, I stayed for an extra amount of time at this stop sign to wait for this smoke to emerge and disapate as I though a fire was starting. Well this puff of smoke did emerge, but only to take on a more human like appearance, with a trail of this flowing, steaming raglike smoke and it was quickly approaching my vehicle. being stunned to say the lessor, I floored the gas pedal. I made some distance and briefly took a sigh of relief.
Then, looking around my area of view. that sigh was replaced by the taste of adrenalin choking fear only to see that it not only kept up with my speed but it was closer, in being freaked out, I did not think about introductions at all..I could not define a face about it,as it was that close. I of course increased my speed into our little downtown just a block away. It was then, this apparition disappeared (I think). once assured it was gone, I have never experience fear to that degree... I then prayed for relief of the shaking fear that was about me.
I never heard about shadow people before. But, true to its definition that could only be what it was. I was not seeing shadow trees, shadow rocks, rather taking extreme notice to one that was menacing me. To add, I was not under the influence of anything. I was just getting milk at the local store. I am experiencing, a type of trauma from this and in writing the experience out on Yahoo, I hope it will subside.

Shadow people (also known as Shadow men, shadow folk or shadow beings) are a purported supernatural phenomenon in which observers report seeing a dark form at the edge of their field of vision that disintegrates, or moves between walls, when noticed, usually within a split second.

Reports of shadow people are similar to purported ghost sightings, but differ in that shadow people are not reported as having human features, wearing modern/period clothing, or attempting to communicate. Witnesses also do not report the same feelings of being in the presence of something that 'was once human'.

Some individuals have described being menaced, chased, or (more rarely) attacked by shadow people; there have also been reports of shadow people appearing in front of witnesses or lingering for several seconds before disappearing. Typically, encounters are accompanied by a feeling of dread, although this may be simply distress of viewing such an event.

check out the show ghost hunters on the scifi channel, or pick up the series on dvd. Its a great show. Theyve investigated places like the Stanley Hotel? and Eastern State Pen. The Bird Cage Theater in Tombstone, Arizona. Residential Homes, etc, etc. Theyve caughten a few of these shadow people on camera among other things. Its pretty cool to see what theyve caught on their equipment.

I heard of shadow people where I come from.
They seen them long ago. On the lakes and rivers. they only come out when it's getting dark.
They probably don't really want to be known to man kind.

Yeah, there is this guy I work with, that told me he thinks he may have seen one. He said he woke up around 2 or 3 in the morning and saw the thing standing in his doorway looking at him. it gave me the creeps. I don't know anything about them, but I think he lives and breathes that type of stuff.

I've heard something about that, but I'd disclose that as a myth. Ironic that I'm using something similar to that in a book thatI'm writing.
