how does a guniea pig act or do when tis going to die or is dieing?

One of our guinea pigs died in December. It separated itself from our other piggie by leaving the little hut they have in their cage. It layed down outside the hut and our other one wouldn't go near it. I don't know if they always do this or not.

when mine died he sleeped a lot and ate close to nothing.

no eating, sleeping a lot, being quiet and calm...
