I have to admit I voted for them last year in the hopes they would do something different than the games of the last few years. No such luck- a nonbinding resolution is the best they can do! I can do that much myself. Will Americans have the backbone to support a third party maybe?

Democrats are locked into a position to which they are afraid to do anything to jeopardize the 08 Presidential run,... and they really just sold people and put on a pony show by trying to pass some resolutions in the first hours. So really they are all sitting ducks as far as I am concerned,...including the speaker of the house. We might as well just re elected the whole right.

I think it will not be the party that wins the election but the face that the party puts forward ,but that being said I don't think a third party will step up for this election. If one did I feel that he/she would have the best chance that a third party has ever had.

On the other side I think America will by a majority still move with what it knows especially if Julliani is a candidate. Media plays a major role in drawing votes and a third party just will not get good coverage against a publicized hero like him.

He was never elected the first time. In 2000 the race went info Florida with Bush losing the majority and electoral races. After his brother the Gov. Jeb Bush rigged the election, he was still losing. That's when the Supreme Court stepped in and stopped the count and "announced" Bush was the president. In 2004 he "won" after voting controversy again when the new computerized machines in a few states changed all votes to Republican automatically especially in Ohio, but Kerry didn't put up a fight. The Republicans haven't won a fair race since 1988. A Bush has been in the Whitehouse for 20 of the last 28 years. This country is beginning to look like Haiti.

Oooh name calling. That will sure make a solid point. The Democrats have only been in control for a little over a month. Your are expecting miracles. Remember the margin is still quite small. Anything really progressive will be stopped by the Republicans. To really see what the Democrats can do is to campaign and vote for them. Encourage others to do the same. Once they have a comfortable margin let's see what they can do. If they don't perform we'll throw the bums out and put others in just as we did the Republicans in 06. In short, be patient, Congress never does anything quickly.

Who knows? It is purely speculation at this time.
But look at the results of the job performance of the Republican led Congress and the Presidency. Let's face it, a poor, poor record. By many people's standards. Look at their approval rating from the American People in the polls.
I will always vote Democrat, until a viable third party evolves.
Right now it is a matter of choice, the lesser of two evils.
The power is just to much for our leaders to bear. It corrupts them all, with the current laws, that are in place.

I agree, the Democrats are not holding true to the anti-war sentiment under which they were elected. Not only is their resolution non-binding, but it actually affirms support for the current troop levels--in other words, stay the course. The resolution opposes only the increase in troop levels.

I think the Republicans will regain power in 2008 by stealing the elections. They stole many votes in 2006, it just wasn't enough. They won't make that mistake again.

The reasons for Dems win in the election are being blown out of proportion by their leaders and by the liberal media.

There is NO mandate to end the war in Iraq. In virtually EVERY POLL taken, Americans want to win in Iraq before leaving.

The reason the Dems won a majority (by a slim margin I might add) is because it was a mid term election. Virtually every party who holds power in congress loses power in the last term of a sitting president..... check the records.

I don't know how you can call them dumbocrats. Appearently they outsmarted you enough to get your vote. It seems that you should know by now, Dems will say anything they believe the news media will agree with them on, do anything the "polls" say they should do, and pretend to agree with anything the liberal intelligencia believes. Personally, you deserve what you got.

Unfortunately for democrats, they have done nothing to bolster their chances at re-election thus far. However, there is still some 20 months until the next election, so who knows, maybe they will actually get something done in that time. I doubt it, but hey we can all dream can't we.

I do think its time to start looking at alternative parties because it is obvious to me that there isn't a dime's worth of difference in the two major parties. Their goal is to get in power and stay in power at the cost of actually getting anything done to help the citizens of this once great nation. Thanks and have a nice day.

What is a dumbocrat, people with Dumbo ears like George Bush? There will be a Democratic president, unless McCain or Huckabee get the Republican nomination. However, McCain will not get it, because neo-cons do not like Viet Nam Veterans.

I am at the point where i see both parties as worthless and will be looking at 3rd, 4th or 5th parties. At this point though, i'm going with Ron Paul-R.
