I know that if I added an F it would become some sort of maj7 chord, but I want to keep it at a triad.

I'm trying to get the above to fit into a Bb scale, but I need to know what chord it is.
I'm new at music theory, so any help would be highly appreciated.

well, firstly you would need to use E flat, B flat and D instead of D sharp, A sharp and D. I know that they are the same notes but semantics matter if you are using the B flat scale.

if you want to keep it as a triad then you can use the notes in this order:
B flat, D, E flat
which is called a V 11 (B flat major 11th chord)

i hope this helps and i hope i'm not doing your homework for you. :)

sharps don't naturally occur in a flat scale, man. the chord sounds like an Eb major 7 that's missing the third...if you threw a G in there, you'd have it pegged....and Eb major7 is the IV chord in the Bb scale
