Try contacting area churches and mining facilities there. The Churches might donate for cooperative use, while the mines might donate for a specified lease period.

I've seen coal mines in Indiana do just that. It's not uncommon for them to purchase huge tracks of land knowing that certain portions won't be mined for 75 to 100 years. They will often lease that land to non-profit groups for 50 to 100 years for like $1 per year. They retain ownership, the org gets a free chunk of land for a several years, and the mine gets a huge tax writeoff. Another great advantage of leasing is that the there is no taxation on the property. Check into it, I think you might be suprised what you can work out. Especially if your org addresses the needs of disabled children. Mining facilities are looking for anyway they can to improve their public image these days.

Good luck!
