My youngest daughter(she is 2 1/2 now) has been on prescribed formula since she was 4 months old. She is allergic to milk and I cannot get her formula without a prescription. Also if you get WIC you will NEED a prescription for the special formula. You can probably just call in and talk to the doc and the can write you one or fax it to wherever it needs to go(have done this many many many times)

If your child needs a special type of formula your doctor can prescribe it for u. My daughters needed a special type because they were born very early and it was prescribed by the doc.
