Yes!
People should lighten up, big time. This isn't preschool; it's the Internet and if people can't grasp that they shouldn't take it out on others. If you get offended at something that someone else says, it's your own fault because you are CHOOSING to be offended. I don't mind people saying stupid stuff as much as I do that it's always the people who I can't e-mail and tell them what I think of them. And to tell you the truth, I'm more bothered by the people who complain about being offended than the people who offend others because the truth of the matter is that if you're so insecure and sheltered that you can't handle being around anyone who disagrees with you for any reason then you don't belong on the Internet. Sure I might get people ticked off at me, but at least I leave the e-mail option open so that they can tell me what they think of me, because I'm not so thin-skinned as to not be able to handle such criticism.

Good question. I think this should be the "feature" question on the top page rather than that stupid "Number 23 enigma" thing.
Anyway, to answer your question, I think the issue here is not being able to express our emotional feelings in writing.
Because I think most people have a sense of humor and are able to take criticism to some point if they were being spoken to. Body language and tone of voice will mellow out what is actually being said by a tremendous amount.
But when we type it out in words it becomes so blunt and to the point that some people feel as though they are being personally attacked.
Just like IF I TYPE OUT IN CAPS IT'S AS IF I'M YELLING BUT IN ACTUALITY I'M NOT AT ALL.
I've got into name calling fests on this site with people I could probably sit down and drink beer with while debating on our differences in calm manner.
But of course there are a few out there who can't take a joke or do not take criticism very well. And there are way too many people who are negative and hateful who post here because it turns them on.
At the end of the day though, there are many people out there who know what you're talking about or who will try to understand. And really aren't they the ones we should be talking to instead of the person who goes crazy and flames everyone?
So ask away in whatever way you want.
As for the Y!A employees who censor us out, I think they should make some leeway. Because really, if someone comes on with a racial rant and hates on or threaten you, you should be able to retaliate up to a certain level. DOn't you think?

I think it's fine. I used the terms "redneck" and "retards" to describe the people here in the Midwest and my question was rejected for having "epithets & slurs". So if those are not PC terms and people are actually racially or ethnically offended by them, then I understand and I just worded my question in a way that wasn't deragatory but still described my experiences accurately.
It's a slippery issue though because many times when people complain about "political correctness" it's just their subtle way of justifying racism. Racism is immoral and ignorant for a lot of significant reasons, and it's disturbing how more and more people have been forgetting that in this day and age.

Our whole society is too politically correct. What has happened when we dident say what we meant, and we only do things to look good and because its expected of us.Maybe theres a direct link of that conditioning to the number of Anti-Depressive drugs on the market,Prozac is a household item.Random killings,drive-by shooting, are these the result of bottled-in emotions? These days you have to reach a college level to understand an insult.Gone are the days when the N word was used, now its Articulate.God help us!

answer the questions you want to and skip those you don't want don't be afraid to say the truth as long as it's not through insulting others, relax and enjoy reading others people answers because that's how we learn. just keep in mind that some people are sensitive while others are very disrespectful but to be honest you can't and you won't please everyone so don't be disheartened or angry when you get stupid emails or thumbs down. good luck and all the best.
PS: just look at the first answerer, that's how you see just how ignorant some people are and can be

No, it's politicially right, as in "zeig heil" right wing.
I've lost count of the number of 'questions' saying crap like "Are all blacks/jews _____?" (insert insult) which DON'T get censored or removed, yet valid responses are censored as "offensive". For example, I was once "reported" for saying exodus didn't happen and the jews were never in Egypt. That's nowhere near being hate speech, it's a topic of historic debate, and yet it was censored.
Tyranny of the majority rules, it seems.

Regardless of your religious beliefs or political affiliations, I think all of us that are in this site exercise their right to express one's self and opinions. This is what creates interest in people coming back for more. So ask and answer away. Have fun.

I have gotten so many violation notices because of uptight, ignorant, simple minded and just plan stupid 8 yrs(mental age) old anal retentive Christians who don't like the fact that their whole faith system has no footing in reality or logic what so ever!! The truth is threatening to them so they report you. They censor anything they don't like because the lie is getting harder and harder to believe and sell.

that is an open communicate board, in case you don't like it you are able to continually go away... to boot the generalizing, i in my view do not enroll in "political correctness" - no count number how a lot you try to "sanitize" an theory, someone, someplace will nonetheless be indignant
