i've had it for roughly 5 years and its power jack needs to be resoldered back on, how would i be able to gain access to my motherboard

i hope your not going to do the job your self i have been told its pretty hard and it cost like 3 or 400 bucks if you go to a computer shop pretty sad i have a 6 year old compaq presario 2100us laptop and have not had that happen yet and the battery still last for 3 hours like how it did when i 1st got it but if i was you i would just take it to a computer shop and let them have fun with it hope everything works out

Go to the "manuals" section
Enter either the express service code tag number or the make/model number for you laptop
View the service manual
It will have step by step with picture on how to access your system board
