Okay, based on your other questions you should have been able to test on the 9th (the day after you missed your period). If you have tested and gotten a negative result and still no period, you wait a few more days then test again. If you are still getting a negative result a week after you missed your period and still no period you may want to go in and have a blood test to test for hcg levels. I had spotting during all three of my pregnancies, the middle one ending in miscarriage at 6 weeks.
