We often make "snap" judgements in a few seconds and miss out on who the person really is, which usually means missing out on a friend, networking opportunity, or future partner.

I don't consciously evaluate people but, I guess we all do it a little. Even people who accuse others of being judgmental are judgmental themselves. The disadvantages are mostly that we are too quick to evaluate others and we can be wrong. There's a person on Answers who was wrong about me and I believe I was wrong about her because we were both too quick to judge or evaluate the other. Actually, I find myself often agreeing with her answers when I see them and liking her in spite of our 'rocky' beginnings. Not always but, often. I also think she might like me if she got to know me. But, this is just Y answers. (Sigh) You have given me something to think about. What we should ALL do is to not be so quick to judge or 'evaluate'. We could miss out on some good friendships that way. All of us. Thank you.
