On occasion, Grimoires appear for sale in the Bazzaar when certain conditions are fulfilled. They greatly enhance the frequency and quality of loot from particular kinds of monsters and are worth obtaining as soon as possible. In fact, you may even want to prioritze Grimoire acquisition over new gear, magicks, or techniquess. The sooner you get your hands on Grimoires, the sooner your drop quality will improve.

i think u should get it. there isnt much of a storyline when u compare it to some of the other big FF games, seeing that it didnt really have a love thing. like in FFX, u had tidus and yuna. the new gambit system is pretty good, and theres a few places in the game u can use it to level up w/o touching the controller (oooh, magic!!) the graphics arent next-gen, but theyre good nonetheless. the game can take a bit of time to get used to, w all the new things put into it. like the new moogle. i hate how they look in this game, but it wouldnt really match the theme of the game if they were like they were. like i said b4, theres the new gambit system. theres also the license board, which i thought was a bit of a hassle, but i dont have to worry about it anymore (he's bragging!!) the game is really good, though it lacks some essential parts that would make it a really good FF game when u compare it to the big FF hits.

By all means, you should get all the Grimoires as soon as you can. Each Grimoire is an item called a Monograph which makes it far easier to get rare drops for different creature types.
HUNTER'S MONOGRAPH
* Cost - 18,000 gil
* Monster Class - Avians, Beasts
* Criteria - Complete Thextera Hunt and speak with Gatzby in the Muthru Bazaar in Rabanastre
KNIGHT'S MONOGRAPH
* Cost - 19,000 gil
* Monster Class - Giants, Insects
* Criteria - Speak to a Weapon Merchant (or any combination of more than one) 30 times.
WARMAGE'S MONOGRAPH
* Cost - 20,000 gil
* Monster Class - Undead, Amorphs
* Criteria - Read a Hunt Bulletin Board (or any combination of more than one) at least 20 times.
MAGE'S MONOGRAPH
* Cost - 21,000 gil
* Monster Class - Fiends
* Criteria - Speak to a magicks Merchant (or any combination of more than one) at least 25 times.
SCHOLAR'S MONOGRAPH
* Cost - 22,000 gil
* Monster Class - Constructs
* Criteria - Speak to an armor Merchant (or any combination of more than one) at least 15 times.
DRAGOON'S MONOGRAPH
* Cost - 22,000 gil

* Criteria - Read a Hunt Bulletin Board (or any combination of more than one) at least 40 times.
SAGE'S MONOGRAPH
* Cost - 25,000 gil
* Monster Class - Elementals
* Criteria - Speak to any merchant (or any combination of more than one) at least 100 times.
CANOPIC JAR
* Cost - 250,000 gil
* Monster Class - ANY. The CANOPIC JAR allows all enemies to drop Arcana
* Criteria - Sell PHOBOS GLAZE, HORAKHTY'S FLAME, and DEIMOS CLAY (all items earned by completing certain Hunts) to a merchant.
Not only are these rare items needed to gain access to some of the game's best equipment, but they allow you to build up Gil in a hurry once you've bought all of the Grimoires.
