I walked into a restraunt and wanted to order some takeout. I stood there for a minute and received no help. So i walked up to the desk and asked if I could get some takeout. mmmm sushi. I am a regular customer and have done this several times. But the waitress denied me service. The waitress said " Im not doing takout right now" in a condescending manner. Not wanting to make a scene I left. I feel kind of betrayed because I told so many people how great this restaurant was. I can't think of any reason why I should have been denied service. They looked a little busy. Not sure if that was the reason though.

You should have went straight to the manager. I would definitely still call and talk to him/her if you don't get satisfactory results go to the owner or corporate about the problem. It sounds like the waitress was out of line -- perhaps takeout wasn't one of her responsibilities but she should have gotten you someone who could help.

My inclination would be to try the restaurant again in a few days, and if everything's good, chalk this last bad experience up to a waitress having a bad day.
If the waitress was just having a bad day, the next visit will be better. If, on the other hand, she was disrespectful to several customers, she'll be history, and the problem will be solved.
And finally--worst case scenario--if you go there again and the service is poor again, write the restaurant owner a letter, a no-kidding paper, snail-mail letter explaining that you've been a customer many times, have enjoyed the experience, have recommended the place to friends, but will not go there again or recommend the restaurant to anyone again because you've been treated rudely on two consecutive visits. Restaurant owners are business people and hate to lose good customers; I guarantee such a letter will get results.

This is from a back of the house perspective. Sometimes there are things going on behind the scenes. Like being short-handed, or maybe they were backed up with tons of take-out, or a corporate order that took precedence.
The best she could have done was ask the cook how long for your order. The answer could have been 1.5 hours or something.
I've been denied before on super busy nights from the owner of a popular restaurant. The priority goes to who's already there, not take-outs. But at least I always tried to accomodate customers.

That was odd. You should call the manager of the restuarant today and tell him/her about the disappointing service or lack of service you recieved by the hostess. I would mention that you are a long time customer and just wanted to order takeout.
However since it WAS valentines day they may not have been serving takeout. They may have had a limited menu selection that night and only wanted to serve dine in customers.

I would call up the restaurant during the day (before the dinner rush) and ask who the owner / manager is. Go into the restaurant and ask to speak to him / her (that way you can't have her give you a fake name if she is the one to answer the phone) Tell him / her the story of what happened to you. She isn't making the sushi so it's not up to her, it's up the chef! She probably just wanted the tip so she decided to tell you that so you would eat in and give her the money.

Even though it wasn't the right thing to do, she might have been short handed and didn't have any way of making takeout orders. Not sure, but if it isn't a corporate place, this could easily be what it is.

My felony professional student/wait crew daughter spoke of an thrilling ingredient that i does no longer have idea-about. Bar/eating places are frequently responsible for the intoxication of their buyers. chuffed hours are a touch risky severe danger ingredient for them because that's extremely elementary to over-indulge. maximum such places provide particular pricing in the bar in elementary words so the bar crew can more desirable easily music intake by technique of both statement and by the tab. by technique of sitting in the eating position area, you may run 2 tabs and not in any respect be watched by technique of crew as educated in being observant. (Yeah, i recognize- it might want to be elementary to observe a guy in a honking massive chair, although that's the most of the ingredient!) subsequently- the issue isn't accessibility, that's the felony duty of the bar. you probably made them even more desirable fearful in the adventure that they knew that alcohol many times impacts powerchair-clientele more desirable aggressively than it does those who use guide chairs independently, and far more desirable than it does those who stroll. My advice- revisit the position (no matter if it really is an area you want to revisit) even as agency is sluggish and ask a manager what the real difficulty is. in the adventure that they are certainly fearful about felony duty (which isn't unavoidably something they could appreciate discussing), possibly you may come to an association. i might want to be keen to wager a large area of what occurred replaced into their feeling like they were stuck by technique of wonder which placed them on the protective.

did you ask why? What time was it? Some restaurant have specific times in which they do take out, say during the dinner and lunch rush only and not at off peak times. Was it later at night? Maybe the restaurant was preparing to close.

I'm not sure what the question is here.... but man o man how rude! It may be to your advantage to talk to the owner and let her know what happened. My guess is that you probably were talking to the owner and she just doesn't have a very good sense of business... too bad for her, huh?
