Hatred is generally rooted in fear and ignorance. Scarier yet, some people who hate 'minority' groups have a sense of superiority... their justification for hatred is built on a tenant in their religion, culture, or up-bringing. This is what particularly disturbs me. For example, my cousin feels it is okay to discriminate against and demean my brother because he is gay... her basis for her actions is the Bible. It matters not that this book gives a multitude of instructions on how to treat others... she picks and chooses her data at will.

By intellectualize do you mean: can I trace where the belief comes from? Yes. Can I site examples in the world that seem to provide a basis of support for the spread of hating behaviour? Yes.

Can I say it makes logical sense? No. Rarely does anything that expresses itself in cruelty have a sound grounding in logic. It is emotion... fear, mixed with a jolt of ignorance, and padded with superiority.

Unfortunately that's impossible. Generally because hate is emotion. However there are a few absolutely social reasons, best shown on the examples:
A white man who does not work spends 14 hours a day in his armchair drinking beer and watching TV, then suddenly he looks into the window and sees his new neighbor moving in - he's black, he's well built, he's a successful businessman, he's driving a new sport car, he's got a beautiful wife and two children. And voila the new racist is born.

No...you cannot intellectualize hate based on a group. We must always remember, no matter what our religious beliefs may be, that a "group" is a collection of individuals, each differnt, each with thoughts and gifts and beauties separate from others in their group. Stereotypes are lies based on assumptions. Always, always beware of finding yourself standing in a judgmental position on any person or group.

You can't intellectualize hate. Hate is about ignorance and fear, not intelligence and understanding.
If people applied their intellectual to the groups they hated, and learned about the groups, they would see that their hate is ill-founded.

Hate is a product of lack of intelligence. There is no proper way to intellectualize any form of hate. It can only be described as fear of self preservation.

LACK OF L-O-V-E!!!!!!

PEOPLE THAT DON'T KNOW HOW TO LOVE HATE!!!!!!!

If you ever want an answer for something like that you could go crazy trying to figure it out....

But, what helps me is my walk with God because it has given me the understanding that evil things are a result of the spiritual manifestation of spirits of hate....

Therefore...we won't see racism...or evil acts ever seize in this journey...(or any other acts of evil or violence for that matter)...

But, we can change the spirit of people by the way that we live our lives....and that helps to comfort me....

Knowing that we do not wrestle with people...but against spirits...helps me to rationalize those things....

So, I don't let it effect my mentally....but I do everything that I can do to spread love....

Hate is a strong word...even in the bible says to hate the actions and not the person.... but i can rationalize not accepting someones sexuality or religion, we do not HAVE to accept someone if we believe what they do or how they live is not right.

Yes, they can and it is because they are not willing to get to know anyone in those groups. And they may feel insecure so to make themselves feel better about their self they make these people in their mind inferior.
