It is hard to get papers, but it depends on a lot of things. Each and every scenario takes time, money, and patience. My husband is also from Mexico and we still need to get his papers, and un-like other people, like the guy that responded and said his gf took him promptly to immigration. My husband has been married to me for 3 years and is only worried that if something happens and he gets sent back, he is worried about our daughter and me. Best thing to do, is to talk to a lawyer, they know what they are doing and can best answer your questions. Just be ready to pay around $5000 or more (at least that is how much we are looking to pay) and to go back to Mexico for about 6-9 months (again that is what we are going to have to do).

I had a mexican girlfriend that was just using me for my greencard. She even took me to an immigration lawyer because she wanted me to become familiar with things. I asked the lawyer what her options were and this is what he told me.

She can not work here unless she has a degree for a job that is in demand here in the U.S.A......and if she applies for her papers then it could take up to 10 years before the immigration either accepts her or declines her and he said that it is more likely that she would get declined.

I asked him how the easiest way to become a United States citizen and he told me that if her and I were to get married and stay married for about 4 years then she could get her greencard as long as I did not do anything during that time period to stop the process.

Needless to say I broke up with the girl but if your friend could fool some girl into falling inlove with him then that might be the best way to get his papers.

Online you can get the information at:
http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis

If you were looking for something locally; check out Catholic Community Service (an agency which often helps with citizenship), hispanic agencies in your community, a hispanic mission church in your area.

I have known many friends who have used these various agencies to get their papers.
There is also the option of using a lawyer, but then there is more cost to consider.

Go to this website

http://www.uscitizenship.info/?ad=overture&keyword=us-immigration&OVRAW=immigration%20to%20US&OVKEY=immigration%20to%20us&OVMTC=standard

Look to the right of the page where it asks "Do you qualify?" Click on the link.

It contains a short list of questions that will tell you if the person qualifies for citizenship. They don't track IP addresses so it is safe to use.

Hope this helps
