Would is something conditional. I would buy that purple Ferrari, IF I had the money. Will is more assured: I will buy that purple Ferrari. If asking a favor, such as of a waitress at a busy diner, saying would you refill my cup allows her some time to comply, whereas saying, will you fill my cup has more of a sense of urgency. Would you fill my cup when you get a chance, vs will you fill my cup?!
