Some vehicles also have a stabilizing circuit so that you don't get false readings when you accellerate, brake, or park on a hill. If that circuit goes bad, you will see a lot of movement in the gage. Not sure where it is, but I'd guess it's behind the instrument panel.

Welcome to the beginning of hell (snicker, sorry...owned 8 Blazers had been here 6 times).

If you mean bouncing....its the sending unit in the tank w/ the fuel pump that is starting to go out. Soon it will stop bouncing and just die but you will still go. Then out of no where, your pump will die and leave you stranded.

Chevy is known for this issue on so many trucks and SUV's its not even funny. But they refuse to do a recall on it even though millions encounter it. Start saving your money too....as all this is in the tank and that needs dropped to do the job. Blazers run $7-800 for the job so I am sure your Silverado will be about the same.

Let me guess....you are around 120,000 miles...right?

Your problem lies with the fuel level sending unit. It iether has a little chunk of ice on it or it's shot.
