Why does the bible only talk about the Earth? And not the other planets?

I can’t believe that so many people could answer a question so dead wrong.

The bible absolutely does declare other “heavenly hosts” and specifically claims that God made them. In fact the bible presents a view of the universe that is much broader in scope than any human on earth could have. In fact there is NOTHING un-scientific in the bible; just the opposite! Science has been slowly dragged kicking and screaming into agreeing with much of what the bible claims.

In the book of Job the bible points out a huge amount of scientific facts that were only recently discovered by scientists.

“Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?”
Job 38:31

How could Job know that the Pleiades is unique because it is a gravitationally bound star group all traveling in the same direction? Who besides God could have told you that the three stars that make up the belt of Orion are actually moving apart from each other?

Who else could have told you that the Earth floats in space?

“He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.”
Job 26:7

Who other than God could have told you that the Sun is traversing a circuit through space at approximately 600,000 miles per hour?

“Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.” Psa 19:4-6

Have you ever heard of a little thing called the ZODIAC? It is as ancient as anything known and is found in every culture around the world.

Well it was originally called the MAZZEROTH. It dates to the very first man. It is all about the twelve tribes of Israel and the coming messiah. It has nothing to do with your individual future. The stars were put there by God, named and numbered. When put into motion the stars and planets become Gods clock which all the events on earth are correlated. The magi knew when and where to find the baby messiah based on Gods heavenly clock.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.” Psa 19:1-3

Have you ever considered that what we now call the Milky Way was at one time simply referred to as “the way”? Have you ever heard the gospel of the good news referred to as “the way”?

The fact that the universe is spatially flat has been a claim made by the bible thousands of years ago.

"It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in" Isa 40:22

The fact the universe did have a beginning and will have an end. The fact the time, space and matter all began at the same time was all declared in the bible. Genesis 1:1; Hebrews 1:10-12

The fact the there are so many stars in the sky that man cannot number them is found in Genesis 22:17 Jeremiah 33:22

To Bible writers, planets were just bright stars that wandered around, and stars are specks of light. They live in the sky, like people live on Earth. What would we have to do with them?

Even if they had realized planets were worlds, there was no way to get there. Even if there was a way to get there, the evidence is pretty strong that there are no recognizable "people" on any of the ones we can see from Earth. So what difference would it make?

The Bible is intended as a guide for moral living. Speculating about aliens is like speculating about angels, imaginatively gratifying but not very practical. If aliens were to come here from off-world, it would be like aliens from overseas. If you're worried about their "salvation", God has probably already worked out a separate deal with them.

The Bible is good at what is does, but it doesn't have to do everything. It doesn't help you repair your car and it doesn't tell you what's on TV next week. If you're looking for a comprehensive cosmology or a guide to interplanetary diplomacy, you need a different book.

The Hebrew word for "star" in Genesis chapter 1 translates to any ball of light in the night sky, planets included.

If the other planets in the solar system were included in this Bible verse, then any exo-planets should be included, as well.

The Bible was written for people of the earth. If there are other people on other planets, they probably have their own Bible.

Because the Bible was written thousands of years ago. People at that time, did not know about other planets or how life came to be.That knowledge came later. The Bible reflects the beliefs and knowledge of the time. The Bible is a religious book, based on stories and hearsay and has no scientific basis.

The Universe is mentioned in the creation story of Genesis, but the main emphasis/message of the Bible as a whole is the story of Jesus and salvation through him. Bible was not written to help explain the details of other planets, Universe, etc.

When the bible was written, people didn't know about the other planets. The bible was written by man, your question doesn't really contradict the existence of God.

When the human authors of the Bible's Old Testament wrote it, they didn't know there WERE other planets. How can an author write about something of which he has no concept?

Addendum: Since I feel I didn't make my point properly, I have to add a bit. Some people have argued that the authors of the stories in the Bible were "divinely inspired" or some other such phrasing meaning they were heavily influenced by their God. Well, then my question is, why didn't he/she let them know those lights in the night sky weren't just pinpricks in a black curtain draped over the Earth every night? Why didn't he divinely inspire them to know, and therefore write, about the truth?

It was written in a time when man did not know about other planets, or at least in the sense that they were astronomical bodies like Earth. You can either take that to mean that the Bible was written by men, with no divine inspiration, or that it was handed down by God in a text that would be comprehensible by early man. If it was an astronomy textbook, it would make no sense to Moses, David, Jedidiah, and them there guys.

ok sturdy question, between the rules of Thermodynamics is that each and every one skill ought to dercrease. Perpetual skill isn't accessible in this lifestyles. So DNA is clone of that. Adam and Eve were highly intelligent, yet as we pass on we get dumber and dumber aas the years pass on. We in elementary words look smart because of the technologies our ancestors gave of to compensate. and yet another ingredient. After the flood demons might want to no longer have sex with women individuals(in the type of the incububs) so the Giants began fade away. and as society receives beggier a lot less area, genetics dictates human beings get smaller.

God created the "HEAVENS" (plural) and the Earth. The Bible refers only to our planet since it is our home. Who knows how many "people" He has and is creating in other planets and other universes!
