Hey, let's not forget that when John Gruden left the Raiders (a good team) they made the Superbowl the following year with Callahan (I think that's who it was). The chargers have THE BEST RB AND BEST TE in the game. They have a good defense and many good to decent players at most positions (plus a pro bowl kicker). Unless they get a complete idiot as a coach, they should at least make the playoffs.

Honestly, that team is talented enough to make it to the playoffs even if Napolean Dynamite was the coach. If they don't make the playoffs with the number of all pro's they had in the Pro bowl then they need to busted up and rebuild. But in hindsight, I do feel they are at a disadvantage as far as finding coaches. Any head coach brought in will want his own staff; and at this point of the year with the draft closing in there will major problems in the future. I see a lot of injuries coming for the Chargers in 07-08 and many personel changes in 08-09.

I ts a crap shoot they have alot of talent that could get them in the playoffs but what a silly move getting rid of marty.Granted he is not a clutch coach but him and the chargers probably would have won the bowl next year despite his shortcomings then after the glory of a super bowl win they could have slowly searched for a new chief. Now the team will have to learn a new system on both sides of the ball.,allmost seems like spanos doesnt want to win, best of luck to singletary he was a great backer and I hope he does well but bad tiing to fire your coach.

It won't be losing Marty that will cost them. It will be losing basically the whole coaching staff. Yeah they will say it is about Marty and put everything there but when the Chargers don't make it, and I don't think they will, it will be because basically the whole coaching staff is being replaced.

The team wasn't Marty. Rivers, LT and company will probably win it all next year regardless of who coaches there.

Dude, it's not just Marty. They lost O and D coordinators as well. They're screwed.

I say let LT be player-manager. It worked in the NBA!

it is probally going to happen because they have a great offense and defense even if they lost there coach. Antonio Gates, Ladainian Tomlinson, Phillip Rivers, Shawn Merriman. I bet you they will make it

Yes this team is too stacked not to make the playoffs.

Did they fire LT? How about Rivers, or Merriman, or......You get the point. The Chargers will be back.
