I'm having a terrible time trying to fit our kitchen :( .We've over come wonky flooring, poor electrics and plumbing but have now met our match with gas pipes...... The new kitchen units we are fitting are about 3 cm shorter that the existing units - therefore the gas pipe that goes up to feed our gas hob is 3cm to tall! can anyone advise if it's safe to cut this pipe (the hob is disconnected just now)? can we just chop 3cm off it to solve the problem? this pipe appears to be earthed, but the gas meter it's self is not earthed - we will get this done ASAP, but will it affect the cutting of the pipe? The meter and the gas pipe we want to chop are in different rooms. any help at all is appreciated. thanks
