My ex is with someone else, but yesterday she sent the most random email wishing me happy valentine's day attached with an old email I sent her a long time ago. I didn't respond back. Is she trying to mess with my head? Is she trying to keep me as a back up option? I am trying to move on, but she makes it so hard by doing crap like that. I think she's trying to keep me around in case her new relationship doesn't work, or is she just trying to be nice and caring? How can people be so cruel?

Just ignore her (read your other posts). You dumped her, so that was an ego blow for her, but just be glad it wasn't the other way around when she went for her "friend".

If she comes back someday with a "I made a mistake", just say, "I know you did, but that's OK so long as you learn from it and don't do it to the next guy".

Done.

She was probably thinking about you yesterday..BUT.. with that being said i think that is selfish on her part to keep trying to contact you..when she is with someone else..good for you for not responding to her email..if she does have cruel intentions then its best not to let her know that it bothers you..that can just push her to mess with you even more..

She probably wants YOU and I'm going to guess she got this new boyfriend thinking it will help her move on faster. Love is sick. Sounds like both heads are being messed with.

I think you answered your own question. Don't let her weasel her way back in so you will be there to pick up the pieces. You can do so much better than that.

she is trying to be in control of your heart strings. don't allow this to happen. when she e-mails you delete them and don't read them just do not allow her to have no contact with you. it will get better in time and someday when you are ready you will move on.

SHE'S MESSING WITH YOUR HEAD. YOU WERE RIGHT NOT TO RESPOND TO IT. MOVE ON AND LET HER GO.
