You can say what you will about T.O. but at least he's still out there and makes a play or two. LaVar has missed 16 games over the past 3 seasons, and performed poorly in all the games he actually did play in. Why his name is even thought of as a star is beyond me.

Thoughts?

Here's a list of LaVar's injuries. You can see in the 2004 season (when he played a great total of 4 games) he stayed on the roster, was always a game time decision and always went "sorry! feeling too bad today!"

And I was so wrong about the 16 games, my apologies.
2004 -12 games missed
2005 - 3 games
2006 - 10 games
Total for past 3 years - 25

It's kind of unfair to call him overrated due to his injuries, because when he does play, he plays incredibly well. Now if the question was OVERPAID, I'd definitely say yes. I can't see why anyone would sign this guy to a big contract, but he keeps getting em.

The most overrated guy in my mind has gotta be Eli Manning. He actually plays every game and has been sub-par since he took the job. Still, the media cuddles up to this guy. What doesn't help is that Phillip Rivers has come out of that whole NY/SD ordeal looking like the MAN!! His first year as a starter and he goes 14-2, but yet the media still LOVES Eli. I just don't get it.

Other Overrated honorable mentions:
Reggie Bush (as long as you keep calling him a RB he's overrated. Call him a WR and I think he's excellent. If you catch for more yards than you rush, you shouldn't rush for a living.)

Michael Vick (If you rush for more than you pass...)

Clinton Portis
Mario freakin' Williams (I live in Houston)

When someone brings up injuries they always say overrated afterwards. His missed games cannot count as being overrated. But when he does play, he is OVERRATED for sure. He doesn't even follow the team concept and that's why he overruns so many plays and also ends up making a couple. He goes his own way and when he has a bad team with him, it exposes him as the fraud that he is. No discipline to me means that he doesn't have a very high I.Q. and that's how he got paid so much. He is huge and intimidating but his biggest asset is his head. If I were coaching him I would do exactly what Joe Gibbs did to him and bench him. Since Coach Gibbs' last Super Bowl victory, I think that benching Arrington was his best move as a Head Coach for the Deadskins.

Yes, he is the most overrated player in the league. Some people thought that Brian Urlacher was overrated but with all the fanfare of LaVar coming out of Penn State he has not lived up to the hype.

i didnt think he's over rated mainly because i dont think he's rated that high to begin with. He could be over rated if he have a chance to play a lot but he didnt have a chance to play that much. You cant blame the guy for getting injured or what not. Now I think Eli Manning is the most over rated player in the NFL right now.

No, he's not the most overrated player because he's not rated as high as he used to be. He's not rated high at all right now. He was great his first 3 years in the league. Unfortunately he has changed due to injury and lack of discipline. The Skins got rid of him at the right time (if not a year late).

Go Skins!

Finally, someone who agrees with me... as a 'skins fan I loved him but then I noticed that he wasn't tough after hurting his knee week two a few years ago, but after that he's played poorly and should not be in the NFL, he wouldn't even start in Canada!

He has to be at or near the top of the list. However he's managed to get some stupid people to give him a lot of money for his incompetency.

It's a close call between him, Jake Plummer, and David Carr.

Yes. That's why the Wash Redskins got rid of him. He's all mouth and no action.
