You are probably gonna get fried on this..May I say, though, that I agree with you - totally, 100%
Mr. Bush is a madman! He is NOT my president! Neither my sons nor my grandsons would fight in this war....and 3 of them are the right age to enlist if they wished.
Those who disagree with you have no say in the matter unless they are writing you from a foxhole or a battlefield in Iraq. If they agree with Mr. Bush and his nasty little war, their presence is requested on the battlefield....

My family is already there and volunteered willingly. They not only wanted to protect everyone's freedom to act as you do right now, but also wanted to see those with less freedom establish a new government. (Army Special Forces)
Unlike some members of society, my family is proud to serve and honor their country, no matter who is in the office of President. You've forgotten 9/11, haven't you? It was not an excuse, but an issue which was put into the lap of the President by the former administration. The real problem is, too may people are in denial.
War is hell and always has been. No one in their right mind wants war...but yet everyone wants freedom from a government who promotes tyranny. Sometimes to get that freedom to last around the world, wars against militants must be fought.
Freedom is real, but to be maintained must be defended. It is a voluntary entry into this war and everyone has a right to stay out of it, if they so choose. However, don't meline our President or undermine his authority as the Commander in Chief of the military forces. It's his call as a national leader and according to the Untied States Constitution he has the right to do what he is doing. You may have voted for a Democrat to be in the Senate, but this does not mean that the power of the President of the country has been cut off. If this is what you think, then you have no idea of what the Constitution is all about.
Bill Clinton was out of line when he lost his head over a woman and embarrassed this nation to the ground with immoral behavior in the oval office. He deliberately lied to the American people about the coming and going of a woman for lust. Other countries heard about this as well.
However, there is a difference between lustful behavior and fighting against terrorists elements. The second deals with the safety and security of this nation.
So no matter what you think or believe, you did not vote the Republican party out of power, but only flooded the congress with Democrats. They have offered binding and unbinding resolutions to stop the President, but have offered NO other solutions for success.

The Republicans losing Congress was expected. Historically, the mid-term elections go to the party NOT in the White House. This has much more to do with election turnout / apathy concerning mid-terms than it does with any sort of 'mandate.' The Democrats lost more seats during Clinton's presidency than the Republicans lost under Bush, but that didn't change Clinton's way of doing things, so it shouldn't change Bush's either.

1. Bush is just the Commander In Chief. The military belongs to and defends the nation (we, the people).
2. It is an all VOLUNTEER military. If an eligible person does not choose to serve, it is his or her decision.
3. You are allowing your dislike of GWB to influence your entire mental process. Your statements are clearly overly emotional rhetoric which does not even rise to the level of being specious.
4. Since I am diametrically opposed to your opinions, I find that your entire premise is twaddle. It is also indicative of the lack of fortitude that all too many people demonstrate. We, as a nation, seem to have lost the will to persevere against enemies who work incessantly for our destruction. Have the attacks we have endured so far been inadequate to make you realize the danger of terrorism?
p.s. Bush was not a candidate in the last cycle of elections. If you voted against him rather than for a candidate who would best represent you and your interests, then you are a foolish person who has wasted a vote. No ballot could have affected him as he is no longer eligible for reelection. Did you really think that a Democrat majority in the Congress could impeach him for doing his job as best he could? If so, you are a buffoon.

If I had a son and he wanted to join the military I would support him, he is fighting and living or dying for THIS country, the country that feeds you, that employs you, that has medical care for you, that lets you talk the way you do without going to jail. Bush will be out in a year, sending letters to your congressman will do nothing and that is if they even read them themselves and not have a aide do it for them. He isn't the only one that does this, congress is voting for the stuff to, he is not a dictator as much as people would like to believe. I have my husband over there, and I would send my son. We did not vote him down when we didn't vote his party in, it was just the better choice, you are relying too much on party lines and who is not the better candidate.

I do not have children, but if I wanted to join the military (and I don't), and my parents refused to accept my decision, isn't that as much a powerplay as Bush's? I mean, you would strip your children of their ability to make their own decisions if you could?
And that's exactly what Bush has done in so many ways to us. Granted, he is a "leader" not a parent, but you'd use the same tactics you're railing against to stop him?
I agree with everything you're saying, but I would reconsider the reasons you intend to outline in your letter.

What makes you think our military would want your sons? It is a volunteer military. Most people don't join, only patriots who love America. Just because the dems won a slight majority in the congress does not mean they win the presidency. That election is in 2008. Sounds like you are out of control. I bet you respect Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro,Ted Kennedy et al, they also hate my country and George Bush.

your sons arent fighting for Bush they are fighting for all of us! you think u can do better in power? honestly, even if Kerry won you are the type that would find somethnig wrong with him too. You have no backup for your comments and honestly, Your sons can make their own mind up. There is a reason why we havent been attacked since september 11th, and Bush plays a part in that.

Voulenteer Army hero.
I would be very proud if my Son wanted to join.
The service is more rewarding than any other job because of the difference one Soldier can make. You obviously only take advantage of the Men and Women that do voulenteer and also criticize them because they do.
Talk about biting the hand that protects you.
