Ok... So when you take your birth control your body already thinks its pregnate, therefore, when you go through withdrawl bleeding, since you dont really ovulate, its not a "Real" period. So as long as you take your pills correctly, you should always be protected. But how come when you forget pill it lowers your protection? how come your body wont just think its having a "fake" period ? When you take your placebo pills for a week they contain no hormones. But your still protected for a whole week. If you miss 7 pills though, you have to wait and use a back-up method? SOO Confussed, please help :)

You really need to do some research, it's not a fake period, it's a real period.

The hormone progesterone is the one that is present while you are pregnant. This progesterone stops the release of an egg from your ovary. While progesterone is present it also stops the lining of your uterus from shedding. While the hormone is absent the lining sheds. Taking the placebo pills doesnt' do anything, the lack ofthe pill drops the progesterone in your system causing a period.

You're NOTprotected while taking placebos per say, it's just because you're lining is shedding that you can't get pregnant and the fact that you haven't ovulated.

Why do you think the pill is NOT 100% effective. If by chance you manage to ovulate anyway, which has happened many many many times before, you can get pregnant. Your body is most likely to ovulate while on the pill if there is a dip in hormone... as in, if you miss a pill, are late taking a pill etc.

For arguments sake, if you took the hormone pills all the time without breaking for your placebos you'd never have a period. You'd also **** your reproductive system though

Taking the birth control pill does not "fake" your body into thinking it's pregnant. The reason why you still have a period is because your uterus lining thickens, and then sheds after it realizes there is no egg implanted there. You're right about the pill not causing you to ovulate, which is why the uterus lining "sheds" itself.

When you miss a pill, you're missing the hormones needed not to ovulate. Every pill missed increases the chances of ovulating (releasing an egg), because you do not have those correct amount of hormones to prevent that from happening.

The placebo pills are there mostly for the women who need to remember to take a pill every day, regardless of what they're doing. If you are good at taking your pills, and remembering to start up again after taking a "week off", you don't have to take the placebo pills. That's why most BCP companies have a 28 day pill pack or a 21 day pill pack.

The week of the placebo pills is when you are supposed to have your period. You do not need to take pills during this week, because it is not when you would normally ovulate, therefore, you do not need to take hormones to control it. Once your period ends, the uterus slowly starts to build up a new lining in case a fertilized egg gets implanted. That is when it's starts all over again; you begin to take the pills during your normal time of ovulation, and prevent an egg from being released.

Hope that explains it for you.

What? You can miss the placebos and nothing will happen. Don't miss the real ones. Some people get pregnant when they just miss one. THen keep taking pills not knowing they are pregnant. This can harm the baby. The placebos are just so you will have a period. You can move on to a new pack and miss periods altogether. Just start the new pack the day you would start the placebos. I'm no doctor, so check with yours first on this. I've heard this from a friend.

Taking the start control capsule does not "fake" your physique into pondering it can be pregnant. The rationale why you still have a period is due to the fact your uterus lining thickens, after which sheds after it realizes there is no egg implanted there. You are right in regards to the capsule no longer inflicting you to ovulate, which is why the uterus lining "sheds" itself. While you leave out a tablet, you are lacking the hormones wanted to not ovulate. Each capsule neglected raises the chances of ovulating (releasing an egg), because you do not have these right quantity of hormones to restrict that from going down. The placebo capsules are there generally for the females who need to do not forget to take a capsule everyday, in spite of what they are doing. If you're excellent at taking your tablets, and remembering to up once more after taking a "week off", you do not have to take the placebo capsules. That's why most BCP businesses have a 28 day pill percent or a 21 day pill percent. The week of the placebo tablets is when you're speculated to have your interval. You do not need to take pills during this week, since it is not while you would by and large ovulate, therefore, you do not must take hormones to control it. As soon as your interval ends, the uterus slowly begins to construct up a brand new lining in case a fertilized egg will get implanted. That is when it is starts all over once more; you start to take the pills for the duration of your normal time of ovulation, and prevent an egg from being released. Hope that explains it for you.

When you take the pill (not the placebos), your body is getting the hormones it needs to keep you from getting pregnant....but when you miss one, the hormone dimenshes...that is why you need to take them everyday at the same time to keep that hormone to the fullest! And, everytime you forget the pill...your % of getting pregnant increases!!!

By the time you start the placebo pills, your body is starting the phase of your period and it is very rare that you would get pregnant at this point!

The hormones have to be replaced everyday...if you do not restart your pills the next month, you can get pregnant! The birth control pill is not permanent!!!

when you miss 7 days of the active pills, the birth control is no longer in your system. therefore, you can get pregnant. the placebo pills (you don't even have to take) have no hormones so to allow you to release the blood. (you will not ovulate during this time...) if you forget a few days right after this placebo period, you could ovulate right away. which is how i got pregnant.

you are not protected with the placebo pills. Those are there so you continue to take the birth control pills without interruption and also so you will not forget to continue taking them. You can get pregnant just by missing one pill!!!!
