Yes, you can be. But in this case, I'd say it's unlikely.

When you ovulate (usually during the middle of your cycle), the egg is only viable for 12-24 hours, then it dies and the process of expelling it begins.

If you had sex on the 20th and then started your period 25 days later, it's doubtful that there was an egg waiting for the sperm. Had you done it on the 13th for example, there's a much higher chance of pregnancy.

As well, bleeding can still occur around the time of your normal period the first couple months of pregnancy. It's not your period but many women think that it is the first time when in fact you are 2 weeks pregnant.

It depends entirely on when you have fertile cervical fluid and when you ovulate. Though it's rare to ovulate while you're having a period, you can begin to get fertile cervical fluid during the period which would be obscured by the blood flow. Fertile cervical fluid can keep sperm alive for around 5 days. If you ovulate w/ healthy, living sperm present in your body, you can indeed conceive.

Bleeding isn't always an actual period either. It can be ovulation spotting or anovulatory bleeding, though both of those would be lighter than a normal period.

If you chart your fertility signs, you will be able to tell when you are fertile and when you are not. In that way, you could either use those charts to acheive or AVOID pregnancy.

Some good sources: Fertilityfriend.com (free software as well as a pay-for version and on-line charting turorial); ovusoft.com (discussion boards for many fertility related issues, much info on fertility after the pill, and a very good software for purchase). The books Taking Charge of Your Fertility (associated w/ the the ovusoft website and software) and Garden of Fertility.

There are several cases that one can look up that states, one can get pregnant or may be pregnant even if they have a period afterwards. If you feeling nausea or tender in some places on your body, and you still may think you are pregnant (before or after your period) - it would be safe to take a test.
