search on google. the difference as far as im aware is that right of way is a public access and right of access is where you have been granted permission to use the road/path. hope this helps

I assume you are UK based. For information on rights of way and the aquisition of them look on the net for The Prescription Act 1832.Unchallenged use of a piece of land without a licence or permission from the owner of the land for a period in excess of twenty years can bestow a legal right to use that land, without infringing the rights of the owner.The owner cannot stop you from using the land as a private right of way.
