Our dvd burner will not recognize our dvd+r discs. First it said our drive was inaccessible. Now when I try and copy the files to the drive folder, it won't copy them. It won't move them. It won't do anything with them. It is a NEC DVD+R DL (RW) nd-3550a. HELP!

Yes, your drive should burn DVD+R discs as well as dual-layer discs. Two things come to mind....one already mentioned was that perhaps you lack burning software that should have come with your drive. The second could be that the driver for your drive is either absent or corrupted. In that case, here's the procedure to fix that:
1. Right click on "My Computer" and then click on "Properties".
2. Click on the "Hardware" tab, and then click on the bar indicating "Device Manager".
3. Within the listings of devices, find your DVD burner, and right click on it, and then choose "Uninstall". You'll get a warning, but disregard that and go ahead and uninstall.
4. Exit from there, and then reboot the computer.
5. Once rebooted, Windows should find the DVD drive as "New Hardware" and reinstall the driver for the drive.
Now try inserting a blank DVD+R disc and see if you can now burn files to the disc.
Hope this helps.
