I'm thinking about buying a PS3 and I'm interested in playing online. I've never played console games online before. I have a desktop hooked to a cable modem and a wireless router. I use the wireless to access the web on my laptop and it works perfectly. If I buy the $600 PS3 with wifi, will I be able to play online right out of the box. Will it receive the signal from the wireless router or will I still need to do something else?

My PS3 hooked up right out of the box. No trouble in the world finding the signal from the wifi router and has never dropped while online. All you need to do is go through a very quick and simple setup (and very likely a fast update) and you should be good. You will need to know your WAP or WEP security key though.

It should. You probably need to turn the wifi settings more than likely if that then it should work unless you have a WEP key for your wireless then configure it and bam should be fine.
