I can only think of one right this minute but there are many. One is the country singer Mel Tillis. He was afraid and stuttered but then he made a joke out of his own stuttering and added it even when he became more out-going! I have also heard some great actors and actresses won't go "on" until they get a sick stomach. It all depends on what you decide to do with your shyness by accepting and eventually making friends with yourself.

Actually, it's been proven that success has a way of finding introverts as well! I remember reading a Yahoo article about a year ago that noted several famous people who were (and in many cases still are) shy. I know for a fact Steven Spielberg was in that list among others.

If you are a natural person you should try cognitive behavioral therapy. It was the only thing that has helped me with my horrible health anxiety. Read here https://tr.im/Khv2t

Your thinking determines your quality of life. Your thinking is what causes you these feelings:

Anxious, fearful, stressed or depressed
Constantly worried, or angry about something that is happening in your life
Struggling to overcome obsessive and negative thoughts.

If you change your thinking, you will change your life. This is the basic idea behind CBT for anxiety. The Cognitive part is where you learn nee methods and ways to change your same old habits and thinking patterns. If you keep thinking and expecting the worst – You will continue to suffer.

Unfortunately all of our answers are people in the entertainment field. Wish our inspiration was more worthwhile but.. first one that came to mind was Johnny Carson. Small town kid from Nebraska was very shy even after becoming famous. Was on TV for 30 years and the inspiraration for many in the business.

JAMES EARL JONES

He developed a stutter so severe he refused to speak aloud. He remained functionally mute for eight years until he reached high school. He credits a high school teacher, Donald Crouch – who discovered he had a gift for writing poetry, with helping him out of his silence. The teacher believed forced public speaking would help him gain confidence and insisted he recite a poem in class each day. "I was a stutterer. I couldn't talk. So my first year of school was my first mute year, and then those mute years continued until I got to high school."

And then there's Gary Simon's book "How I Overcame Shyness : 100 Celebrities Share Their Secrets" if you want a whole potful. ISBN: 0684841932

Albert Einstein was a very private, shy person who rarely showed emotion. He was in away more famous for his awkward inability to interact socially than for his genius.

Let's see.....Jim Morrison (of the doors) began his career so shy that he would sing with his back to the crowd. He eventually overcame this to become one of rock's true powerhouses. He could, and would, manipulate his audiences to do his bidding. Crazy guy, but a great performer.
