do you cook with what ever is at hand?

or do you use each item for its purpose only?
ok, here is the deal. when I cook I do not cook in any perdictable way. it is on mood only. this drives my husband crazy for some reason. I think as long as the food comes out good it does not matter what utensil or pan I used to cooked it with.

example. I do not use hot dog tongs for ONLY hot dogs. I use them for what ever purpose that I think it will serve me best at the time of my mood. I have used them to flip over small cookies in the oven because the handles were long & they gripped well. I have used sauce pans to cook stuff other than sauce only. I have used a spatchula to mix cakes cause it did a better job then a spoon. if I do not use the tool for only what its name suggests it is used for it drives my husband crazy.

I am I the only one that cooks with what ever I feel like? and not neccisarily the the objects intended use?

ya, I have used the heal of my shoe as a hammer too. not it's intended use. :P

I do this all the time! I was told it's the mark of a very creative cook! What difference does it make WHAT you use as long as it's clean and the food is good?? You go ahead honey and do what makes you happy!

i once made a turkey in a toaster oven and ate it with plastic forks i got from take out, does that answer your question? :)
