am working on a script and in my mind I want to create an epic action hero with cult classic undertones synonomous with Pulp Fiction, Indiana Jones. The character is male and of an older age (young enough to be Hollywood star) say about 40 - 45. i.e I want him to really feel the pain when he gets hit, falls etc instead of a spring chicken.

The plot outline is a slightly more modern world. Crime is rotting the city our plot centres in. This crime is neither explained nor justified and only offers a setting. The police are moving through the city and although they resembles any average LA cop they move with Terminator precision. They are strong and powerful (is it too much like Matrix?) this is attributed to their training and not any software program. Our heroes situation involves him with local gangs and of course he beats them. He is fallible and is wounded often. Meanwhile the cops contiue to eradicate crime as well as the few innocent amongs the poverty ridden favelas

To begin with, the movies you listed are not cult classics.

Moving on to the police that is definitely too close to the Matrix.

Your hero sounds a little like the plumber from "Brazile".

It is almost humous to read your sketch here. That may be your intention. If not you will be lampooned for sure.

The feeling the pain thing has been done in the Incredibles and other films. The old age thing has been done as well

There is nothing new here and there needs to be if you want to sell tickets.

Try a Jeckyll and Hyde plot twist where the super heroes and villains all switch back and forth because of some mysterious condition that makes them unable to stop themselves from changing back and forth so one moment they are good and the next minute they are bad, one minute the enforce the law and the next minute the break the law, and the trick is deciding which side they are on when you meet them. It is one gigantic schizophrenic theme park of terror and plot twists, no telling where it will end.

That will sell if you don't get too contrived in your subtext.

No one. Absolutely no one. Has ever created a cult classic! Cult classics just happen to be labeled that 'after' they've sunk at the box office and then gained popularity through non-traditional means. You can't calculate when a movie will be cult, classic or cult classic. You just have to make the movie you want to make and if it becomes a cult classic, then it becomes. You can't make something like that happen or else wouldn't ALL movies be cult classic? Your idea for the 'Bladerunner' sequel is okay, but I think it might pee off Robocop a little bit ;-)

Honestly, it sounds like tons of movies that have been done before. So...it would probably be a blockbuster. LOL
