He already has an industrial sized snow blower. It just doesn't work with ICE CHUNKS.

He went out to shovel with me, which is nice, but he started cracking jokes, which made me laugh and sapped half my strength.

We ALWAYS do all of our own yard work, shoveling, raking, leaf blowing, mowing, planting, painting and deck washing and staining. When I get to be 75, probably I'll hire a neighborhood kid to help us.

I wouldn't let my wife shovel snow by herself but if we did it together, that would be different. We could chat and catch up while we worked. The older one gets, the better the chance to have injuries occur while shovelling. If you have kids, give that job to them. If you don't have kids, there is bound to be one around that will shovel it for you for a few dollars... A fair rate is about $7 for each length of car on a driveway with a median amount of snow. If the recent storms have hit you and there's 30+ centimeters of snow, pay the neighbour with the snowblower to clear you out just this once.
Shovelling is an intense workout, if you can handle that and want to do it, go for it... many women are stronger and more fit than their men are.
If your hubby wants you to shovel while he sits and watches the hockey game, bury his car and don't make his dinner (I am guessing he wants you to do that too, once you finish shovelling).

No. only because you paid him to do an identical pastime 2 or 3 years in the past does no longer advise that he has a standing settlement. in case you probably did not ask him to do it and he chosen to do it on his personal, that makes it a voluntary act of neighborly kindness. you do not owe him any earnings any respect. i'm particular that's snowed a minimum of once between now and that massive typhoon in 2010, and it form of feels he did not problem to shovel for then you so why does he imagine that you owe him for shoveling now in case you probably did not ask him to?

Buy a snow blower for your husband and claim you're afraid use it. It's win-win - he gets a big loud toy and you get to sit inside and drink cocoa while he clears the driveway and sidewalks. If you can't afford a snow blower, well, you're hosed and you'll have to shovel with him. Love that Women's Equality baby!

It depends on who is able to. Usually the guys do the shovelling, but us gals can swing a shovel too.

I might be an American but I don't want to be treated equally (in certain matters). I want to be treated as a PRINCESS!!

My hubby is very good at this.
