Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to live in a farm out in the sticks with your family. I am one of those people that looks at the way the Amish live and I wish I could live like that. Having a tractor, a river close by, horses, pigs, chickens, dogs, cats, and ducks. It would be nice if I could take bike rides by the river bend at sun rise. Well, too bad I'm a poor college student living in Downtown El Paso and everyday I wake up to the sound of car horns and pigeons.

Yes, I do. As a matter of fact, I dream of living a life close to the earth. I plan to do it in a 'third world country' in the not too distant future! Hopefully!

I'd lke something simpler than I have now, but the Amish don't have tractors, either. If you hear of a place, or want to start one, e-mail me. I have an acre and a half in South Carolina, and the houses all around me are going up for sale.

Well Simple might be one way to look at it. But keep in mind (no electricity) No flushing tolets: Have to cut firewood for heat, and cooking: No cars,no phone. Work from sun up till sun down.
So I would not call it simple at all. I would call it hard back breaking work.
I grew up just a few miles from the Amish.PS they don't usel diseal,or gassoline tractors, all of that plowing ect .is done by horse ,or mule drawn machines.

I always think about life like that, maybe not as an Amish person, but definitely living a less hectic, complicated life. I think it's good to get away once in awhile, recharge your batteries by being in a place a little less noisy and complicated.

amish don't have tractors,or telephones and there isn't a river nearby.being a member of a cult can be very difficult unless you conform to being a whole-hearted member.

I used to think I was an interesting person, but I must tell you how sobering a thought it is to realise your life's story fills about thirty-five pages and you have, actually, not much to say.
