I've been taking the Yasmin birth control pill, and it makes me unbareably nauseous. A month ago, I had forgotten to take my pill the previous day, so took it the next day when I remembered, and I ended up vomiting from it. I was originally taking the pill for protection against pregnancy, but now I'm taking it more for the condition of my skin (to control my hormones). Has anyone had this problem (getting nauseous from birth control)? And, does anyone have a birth control pill brand that they'd like to recommend (perhaps one that can help with mild acne)?

Thanks.

Talk to your doctor! Only take a birth control pill which your doctor approves and prescribes for you! The question of which birth control pill to take is very serious -- please take good care of yourself under medical supervision.

This is very common for the Yasmin to make you feel sick. I have no idea what else that you can take. There are several bc pill out there. Do some research on www.drugdigest.com about the other medication.

I wouldn't recommend depo provera. It is much to more likely to wreck havoc with your cycle and you have to go to your doctors office every 3 months. I hated it when I tried it. I have taken depo, ortho cyclen and seasonale. I like seasonale the best. Ortho cyclen was working fine, but affected my sex drive. Seasonale has been working great and I only get a period every 3 months. If you want to try something you don't have to take everyday the Nuva Ring is available. I don't know anyone who has tried it. My sister tried the patch one for a bit. Her biggest gripe was that it got really dirty around the edges, just like a bandaid does. I think I heard something about the patch being off the market though, so you'll have to check. Tell your doctor what you are looking for though and he or she can recommend something for you to try.

Yes, forgetting to take the pill causes me to have symptoms much like morning sickness.

Talk to your gynecologist for a lower dose BC option. As I get older, this reflex gets worse, so your best bet is to NOT forget to take the pill. But talk to your doc first, and you'll need a prescription to change it anyhow.

The best and easiest birth control to use is the Depo Provera shot, especially if you can't remember to take your pills.
