Wow, this is so awesome.. My cousin, who hails from Topeka, Kansas, has somehow convinced Metallica to perform at his wedding reception. Even more bizarre, they are going to be at the Baptist Church on Evangaline Street, and will even play the Wedding March song...albeit their own rockish rendition...I was skeptical at first...who wouldn't be...but then Scott (my cousin) got a few members of the band to phone me. Now I'm a believer. The guys I talked to sound authentic...They even sang some of their songs on the phone for me. Have they played at any other weddings or bar mitzvahs?

Metallica still sells out COLISEUMS full of people... they don't play weddings and bar mitzvahs - yet. they might play at the wedding of a famous friend of theirs, but not at some joe-blows place... And they CERTAINLY would not be in the phone sining songs in an effort to prove themselves to humble little you...

and a Baptist Church would calapse from the "hit" if they were ever allowed to plug in !! Let alone the fact that the minister would be "fired" immediately and shipped off to an artic mission for wayward Eskimo girls !!

There are several Metallica cover bands. It's likely one of them. Unless your cousin is extremely wealthy, or has been friends with a bandmember for a long time, it is unlikely that the real Metallica is performing at his wedding.

NO WAY!! Thats crazy? I used to follow Metallica like you wouldn't believe. I can't see them performing at a wedding! I mean come on now, they performed at the craziest prison possible! If this does happen, I would LOVE to hear all about it!

Be skeptical. Metallica wouldn't let a nickel sneak past their greedy little hands. I wonder if they would let the show be taped.
After all the Napster crap with Lars these guys really turned me off.

i'm thinking it's a cover band, unless your cousin knows one of them personally cause other than that, my thinking is WOW, they must be pretty desperate to perform at a wedding....no offense but that's what we usually make fun of for has-been bands cause they can't get work nowhere else.
