I own a laptop with wireless capability. There is a wireless connection close to my dorm room, except that its not close enough for my computer to catch it. Is there any kind of card or anything that can help me get connected to wireless hot spots that are far away from my laptop.... and if possible.... what is the maximum range.

Please mention a product name, and a link if possible

Try the Linksys "Range Expander." I don't remember the exact range boost but it works really well. It's about $99 but worth it. You can check the linksys website for specifics.

if someone plys their music fairly loud and also you listn toit at your residence are you stealing? If someone buys an fairly large television and leaves the curtains open and also you'll watch it from the line is it stealing? If someone vegetation impressive vegetation on their the front backyard and also you sit down on yourcontinual and revel in them is it incorrect? If someone supplies unsecured instantaneous it is an invitation for others to apply it responsibly. we are transferring to three extent the position free wifi will be all round us, why is it as a lot because the consumer to make certain which free instantaneous their devide can connect with is prohibited and which isn't? no matter if it is an open community then you quite must have the right to connect and use responsibly. imagine walking down the severe street moving into each and each and every of the shops basically effective and then you bypass in a unmarried that looks a useless ringer for a keep with an open door and all that...and then the guy interior says its no longer a keep and not in any respect open to the regular public and has you arrested? would that look actual?

not sure of what they're exactly called, but there is some sort of antenna that will pick up signals farther away than a normal wireless card. maybe doing a search on wireless antanna or wi-fi antanna will work. i've seen them before. I had the same problem.
