Definitely. If the question is of a subject that deserves a serious answer, then it will receive one. I have posted several questions that received satisfactory, thought-out answers which allowed me to make better decisions.
I agree that there are many thoughtless questions asked on this site but everyone has to have some fun now and then. I just hope people in need of an answer can tell the difference between the useful and the fluff.
Some questions/answers cannot be deciphered because of multiple spelling errors and this bothers me. I assume this is a deliberate maneuver by the writer and not a reflection on the state of spelling in education today. I realize that shortcuts are common for text messaging, for instance, but should those shortcuts translate into other areas of writing? Should students use text messaging language in a school essay for instance?
Good communication, be it between societies, countries, employees/employers, or family members relies heavily on correct spelling and sentence structure. I wonder what long term impact of text messaging shortcuts will have on young people searching for a job or career?

Well, since 90% of my answers are to serious questions only, I know that some people are getting serious answers. I also asked a few questions and most of the responses were serious, so I will say yes.
I reviewed your question from yesterday, and what I can tell you is that the question posed was rather technical, and although it was quite detailed, it contained a number of abbreviations that some people may not catch what you mean.
I assume that if you had a financial advisor or trading specialist who happens to log on in the last 17 hours, and they happen to read your question, and they happen to know the answer, and then they happen to want to reply to you, then you would get a serious answer.
Perhaps if they did not have to wade through all those "funny" questions you and others are asking, people would be able to find the serious questions to answer you?

I've gotten serious replies and helpful replies all the time..Maybe they remember you were the guy who was never serious..So no one wants to be serious with you..And right now I think you are getting a lot of helpful answers.

I try not to give answers to serious questions. I figure my own life is such a mess I dont need to be answering anything too serious. I read them sometimes just to make me feel like I am not the only one with issues.
