Yes... having online chat friends is a smart decision. You can get to know different people, their views...their ideas ...without revealing your true identity. You have to know about the way of the world to empower your personality. I have learnt a lot... what to do and what not to do... what guys like.. what they dont... the lies they tell ( that too obvious ones)....and all this at no cost.... Remember..if the online contact turns awful u always have the option to block messages from them... So my verdict is... having online chat friends is definitely a smart choice.

Sometimes no but i really depends on the situation. I have 4 online friends we are a close group of mates and they are the best friends i have ever had but we was sensible we got to know eachother for 8 months (by talking every day on IM service, using webcams and microphones and ringing eachother all the time) till we were at a stage we could say to our parents they we trusted eachother enough to be able to meet up for the first time and thats what we did and 2 years later we are still meeting up regularly.

It's neither a smart decision nor dumb one. It really depends on the extent of the conversation and how much personal info you are giving. Just don't be naive, there are predators out there waiting to strike.

It depends on the friends you want to chat with ,if some of them are cunning they may upload virus in your PC ,and before you chat with any one you check whether you have an anti-virus protection.And try not chat to with any strangers.!!!

chat friends is not a smart decision specially if that's a boy ..girls r good..u can do chat friendship with girls but boys always does time pass there so beware of them on net.. who knows wt ever they r saying is truth or lie..u can believe on girls ..

Online friends are no real friends, you never know with whom you are really dealing and if it´s a honest person or not.
I don´t like that kind of friendship...

from my point of u its highly time waste and wrong because very very less people will be true in their informations sharing feelings etc etc so dont easily belive any one in chating
