my mom tells me to be careful...and i am. i personally don't think its bad...its like any other online site *there will always be some people who ruin it* i only have friends that i know and i don't accept strangers.....so is myspace all that bad???

yes it is set to private and my mom has a myspace also so she can monitor my stuff.....i am 13 and i do spend a lot of time on myspace!

You must always be careful on a web site. don't give too much information. Keep your conversation clean, be polite but do not offer personal information. remember the person you are talking to could be 60 years old and look like a trucker from the andes.
You don't know who you are talking to, even if you think you do, you may not. Of course there are always people who ruin it, that is the way life goes, but no one can ruin it for you if you just be careful. Report to your mom if you think something is fishy or someone is getting too personal with you. Your mom can report this behavior and help keep your site safe for everyone. chat site are fun and entertaining. Just be on your guard all the time. I knew of a case where a young girl was acting responsible but had told someone the name of her school. And in another conversation she mentioned she had soccer practice at the school. sure enough a middle aged man showed up at the school for soccer practice to meet her. She thought she was talking to another girl her age. So be careful, don't be afraid to have mom look at the conversations you are having. Never hurts to be REAL sure of what you are doing.

As long as you're careful it shouldn't be a problem. Only accepting people you know as friends is good. You still have to watch what you put on your Myspace though and make sure its private so only your friends can see it.
One bad thing about Myspace is that it's addictive and your mom just might not want you on the computer that much ;)
You're mom is just looking out for your best interest of course, and make sure you let her know that you're being careful.

Myspace isn't bad, but some creepy adults like to stalk kids & teenagers who have Myspace pages. Don't let someone you don't know, especially an adult, get you into big conversations online - especially if they seem like they want to meet you, etc.

ha its not bad. but you do ahve to be careful. i mean im addicted to it personally. But i always do a checkon all the people that want to add me and watch out for how much you put on there. But myspace is amazing i love it!

depending on your age yeah. but i am 22 and i love myspace!! i don't accept people i don't know either. i only got a page so i could keep in touch with people i lost contact with from middle school and high school. i don't know how old you are, but please listen to your mom and be careful. maybe you should set your profile to private.
