My partner and I will be visiting Eagle, Idaho this year and are a bt worried about any racism that may exist there. We've heard a few horror stories from around that region and I was hoping somebody would be able to tell me how true it is.

You will be fine. If one of you were black, then it could be a problem. Interracial relelationships that involves someone of the black community is where you see a majority of the racism in the U.S. focused on.

Coeur D'Alene, ID was known to be a 'hub' for the Klu Klux Klan, they heldparades occasionally there, etc, It's not so bad anymore, but there are pockets of extremism everywhere. As long as you avoid rural/shady restaurants/shops you shouldn't have a problem.

On the bright side, Idaho is an extremely scenic place and that alone will make your trip worth it!

I loved in Idaho from 1972-2005, and HONESTLY didnt see anything racist. I was in Both Northern Idaho, near Moscow, and in Southern Idaho near Mountain home.
we had one black kid in our school, and he was very popular. The school was very small 4th-12th grade was in one building.
I dont think either of you will have ANY problems.

Interesting question Stuart. I am white and my partner is Chinese, the only place that we have ever been aware of racism is Malaysia! I was called a "white monkey" - it didn't bother me. Good luck.
