Methiks it would go 'BOOOOOOOOOOOM!' - is the fuel in the engine and tank not ignited when the car is running? Carry some jump leads over the weekend - some kind soul will give you a start if you get stuck. Good luck!

Ever since my kids were born if they were in the car with me I would either pay at the pump or pay a little extra to have the gas pumped for me so I could be in the car with them. I am sorry to say that I don't trust anybody when it comes to my kids. I would love to live in a world where I didn't have to worry about what could happen to my kids if I let them out of my sight but I don't think that world exists. These days I get my gas pumped in the morning after I drop my kids off at school and while my kids are now 10 and almost 6 I still wouldn't leave them in the car alone.

Before you get gas, go to Wal-Mart or a similar store and get your battery checked to see if it is weak. If it is weak, you need to assure that the alternator is working or a new battery won't fix your problem. So far as leaving your car running, please don't - it is for your safety to have it shut down to fill the tank. There have been many accidents involving injury and death when a motor vehicle is allowed to run while dispensing gasoline. No matter how well the station is equipped to control fumes, the conditions for an explosion always exist - turning your auto off is the only safe way. Invest in a set of jumper cables to carry in your car - a friendly motorist usually will be glad to give you a boost if you have trouble.

It is not the safest act to do but I see folks all the time leaving their cars running while pumping gas. I have done it before with no problems. Heck years ago I use to watch folks smoke while pumping gas{now that was nutz}.
Take your car to the closest advance or auto zone and they can tell you what your problem is

If you leave the car running and the motor creates an internal spark of some kind and it catches the gas, you could go KABOOM --- quite literally.
Yes, you can, but not adviceable.

You should not leave your car running while pumping gas, you could create a situation where a leak can be crted in your emissions system.

once you get it running, take your car into auto zone and they will check it for you.you cant tell by looking at it,unless its busted.some places tell you to shut off the engine while your getting gas,but i dont think it would matter this 1 time.just tell them whats wrong and they probably will let you go.

NO, NO, NO!
Do not, under any circumstances, leave your car running while you are pumping gas.
A spark could blow you, your car, and everyone around you to Kingdom Come.
Please be careful.
