I moved into a house with a ADT installed Safewatch Plus alarm that has all windows and doors monitored. The previous owners did not give us a code or any instructions, so we never use it. It has power and shows red and green lights as things open and close; so it is functioning. I DO NOT want to pay for a company to monitor it, but I would like to arm and disarm it at night while my family is sleeping. PLEASE, ...Does anyone know how I can reset it or get it working again without hiring a monitor Co. because they want to reinstall a new system and have monthly fees?

Hmmm. I would call ADT and see what they offer in the way of a free inspection. Have someone come out and evaluate they system and see if they can use a master code to reset it. If you have to sign up for monitoring service, see if it can be month-to-month and just do it for a limited time. *Note*, they will understandably not do this over the phone, as they have no way to verify that you are who you say you are.
In some areas, you have to have an alarm permit from local law enforement to operate a system, so be aware of that as well.
I really would have the company come out to check it. You don't want to get stuck with an alarm going off in the middle of the night that will not turn off! I use Protection One and have had great service for 10+years... If ADT will not do an inspection for free, try them. The number is 1-800-GET-HELP.

It all depends on what type of system you have in your home. I can tell you the exact key if you want to e-mail what type of panel you have installed. But if there's a trouble light on there's a problem. Considering your power was out you more then likely have a low battery. Give it a few hours, if the trouble is still there that means your battery did not recharge itself as it depleted too much during the outage. If your keypad is beeping though, the most common way to silence it is the # sign or the clear button on your keypad. You can find out why the trouble light is on. But again, that all depends on your system and what type of keypad you have. User manuals can be found online if you want to know the trouble. It also could be a "loss of clock". Which just means your time is out. Very easy to fix. And of course doesn't cost anything. E-mail me from my profile page if you need any help. :)

i can give you the answer in the morning.he is asleep right now. (your ?? is only open for 7 more hours. please extend your question) we use our alarm in the evening and when we leave during the day. it can also be set while you are in your home, even if you want doors or windows open. you do not have to have a company monitor.
