Go buy a roof rake (local hardware store) or borrow one from a neighbor/friend and shovel the bottom 3 feet off the roof line.

Basic mindless labour job... $10 an hour or so I would say... max.
Don't hire some kid though, if he falls off your roof and isn't insured (which he won't be), you will be paying him for life. Hire a snow removal company and sign a contract stating they are insured...
