Don't believe such people as Daniel, Malta is a wonderful place to go, the people are very nice, kind and helpful. I visit Malta quite often (using Ryan Air which is quite cheap), as my sister lives there. Her husband is Maltese and she went to live there.
If you like history, perhaps you can visit Mdina, Mdina dungeons etc... In the weekends, you can go to Paceville, a place where all youths go. Regarding food, you can select from a versatile kitchens - Maltese, Greek, English, Turkish, Italian, Spanish etc... There are also KFC, Mc Donalds, Burger King, Pizza Hut... The choice is yours... Good luck and have fun whilst in Malta !!! The maltese are lucky to have a nice and warm climate all year round...

My husband and I have been to Malta two years ago. It's funny Maltese second official language is English, you would expect them speaking at least some kind of English, but I'm sorry... that language was not that.
The island has a very high historic value. If you have a strength to go around to see. It was extremely hot, the humidity was high, the A/C didn't work, bad food in hotels, but it was good on the streets (kebab for example). Locals were nice, but not in hotels and not the bus drivers and especially not Malta Air flight attendants! Everything was soooo expensive. Be very careful with the money, Maltese will take advantage at you any time. They have horrible horrible beaches. The rocky ones are impossible, if you want to go to sandy beaches (where you have everything at one place: building ground, garbage disposal, communal system where you swim, water sports and gasoline on surface...), you have to take a bus (if you have a death wish - their reckless driving must be Maltese national sport). Everywhere you could see were cranes, it seemed the island was a war zone. It was very unusual for us that in restaurants you must wait for a waiter to show you a table, although there is an empty terrace. And if you want to seat somewhere else then you were told, you can get very bad looks. However, Malta can surprise you in the evening, they know how to have fun.
It was more bad than good experience for us, but each person takes it different way. Some people I know agree with me and tell even worse stories, but my friend who fell in love there, for her that is best place on Earth. Go and see for yourself.

im american who now lives in malta (maltese husband). its very different from the states in all aspects. There is tons of stuff to see and its all located near to each other(considering the whole place is only 122square miles) historical builings and sites are everywhere, public transport is dirt cheap, dining out is simple and everywhere (cost varies depending on choice and location) climate is pretty great (having a warm winter) people generally helpful and friendly. Should be worth a shot as its only for a month so wether you like it or not a month goes by quickly.

The republic of malta isn't uncommon, it is in basic terms very very small. it is likewise an island, making it even that plenty tougher to locate. i've got on no account been to malta formerly yet I even have viewed photos and the place looks breathtaking. a number of my buddies have dived there formerly and say the perspectives are superb. i might purely say that the human beings on your classification are geographly challenged.
