6 months pregnant and have given my maternity notice... can I be fired-legally?

If you are terminated with cause, you can be fired at any time. If you feel you are being terminated simply because you are pregnant, then you should contact an attorney. But if the company has a legitimate reason to fire you, then they can do so.

Technically, if you have been doing a bad job, I'd say yes, but they'd still be opening themselves up for a lawsuit. If you were fired for maternity leave notice, then absolutely not! Get a lawyer and sue. I have a friend who's job was given to someone else while she was on maternity leave, which is also illegal. When she was alerted by a co-worker, they sued, and they have a lovely beach house in a seaside resort where wealthy people go.

Hello. You cannot be fired just on the basis that you are pregnant, that is discrimination, and a company can face a lawsuit for firing someone simply because they are pregnant. But, if you did something wrong or your performance wasn't what they wanted, they can fire you and use that as the grounds for firing. If you feel you did nothing wrong, then legally they cannot fire you. Like I said, it's discrimination.

Yes. Pregnancy doesn't give you a free pass. They cannot fire you BECAUSE you are pregnant but they can fire you for any other reason such as lateness, cutting jobs, difficulty with others, sickness, etc. If you think you were fired because you were pregnant you will have to have proof.

Yes, if you did something that would be justification for firing. You can't be fired for anything dealing with your pregnancy though. I would think the boss would either be a big d*&k or you did something really bad.

You can be fired for caused at any time. There is
no blanket coverage for poor performance,
maliciousness or unethical behavior.

However, the company has a high hurdle to jump
if they simply are laying you off.

.But that is not a immunity if there are other reasons to fire.

Not for being pregnant. But you can be fired if your performance is not up to par.
