this is my first time on the pill(ortho tricycolen lo).I asked the lady at the clinic who presribed them to me when i should start taking them/She told me when i start my next period.I reminded her that i have weird periods, and that i sometimes skip.I told her that i was currently on my period, that it was my second day.So she told me to start taking them when i got them.I got them the next day(the third day of my period)it said to take the white ones first,so i did.i ended my period and i still had a couple white ones left, but i just kept taking the pills like normal. Is that okay? Is it still effective?

Yes, you take one per day right around the same time. Keep taking them no matter if you get your period or not on the white pills. Give your body some time to get acclimated with the pills.

It is still affective but normally what they tell you is that you should take it on sunday towards the end of your period. This doesn't mean that the pill will not work but they now have you cycle all messed-up. Meaning if you are on you period on monday the following sunday you were supposed to start them. You will be fine. Because of when you toook them doesn't mean that they won't work. You will be fine. Just make sure that you taking the birth control everyday. Good luck!

Well, I was informed that you are to start taking them the Sunday after your period starts . But just to be sure, I think you would do best calling your clinician rather than taking the word of complete strangers no matter how confident they may seem. Good luck.
