War is war. People, innocent and guilty will die if you are not a pacifist and believe countries can defend themselves and their interests then you can't complain too much about the US tactics. The US and Western nations always take pains to minimize civilian causalities. Terrorist do the opposite and directly target civilians. Also the US is a state ultimately held accountable to the people, the terrorists are stateless fanatical groups accountable to no one. The US through its military and diplomatic powers and influence have liberated Western Europe from Nazis, East en Europe from the Soviets, Afghanistan, Ended Slave trade in North Africa and Tripoli, and countless others. Who has the rest of the world liberated? Who has Al-Queda liberated? No one, real terrorists use military power to enslave others.

I think its funny you cite the attempted overthrow of Iranian leaders as examples of US terrorism. Tell me, is the world better off today because the US ultimately failed and radical Islamic fascists control that country. Our "terrorism" if successful would have prevented the eventual nuclear showdown we are going to have with Tehran and saved countless lives. Instead we are on the brink of war with the real terrorists. You need to understand my foolish friend, or Kapher (Cow) as the terrorist would refer to you, that Islamic Terrorists have the simple goal of dominating the entire world with Islam and forcing you the Kapher to either convert or become the property of muslims. You think its silly but they are more then capable of succeeding and at the very least will kill hundreds of thousands trying. You need to recognize that the US and the west are the only ones who will defend you.

The gloves are off, and right wrong or indifferent we are at war. The CIA engineered civil war between Hamas and Fatah is payback for that short media clip of all those dancing celebrating Palestinians on 9/11. Blogbaba still remembers Rosie Greer's late tackle of Sir Han Sir Han, so forgive my dim view of the "Palestinian cause". If Hezbollah can claim having the Israeli air force destroy the infra-structure of Lebanon as a victory, then more power to them, we still remember Harari and Gemayal as patriots, and the blogbaba wasn't to happy about a certain Marine barracks Hezbollah visited during the eighties either. Sadat, killed by madmen, Rabin killed by a madman enough already it is long past time, if Iran wants a nuke, I would rather the U.S. deliver it than the former head of the KGB.

If we never find out the truth behind all the conspiracy theories attached to 9/11, we are still at war, just or unjust, it's still war.
The blogbaba says win the damn thing already.

Respond to Putin's threats, don't just give them three lines on the 18th page of the paper and make us read European papers to get around U.S. propaganda. Liberal or Conservative, cut and run Democrat or surge favoring Republican the war is going to be fought so fight it to win.

Respond to all threats, especially the domestic ones our politicians are ignoring, like the fact that European and Asian conglomerates are destroying the U.S. internally by slowly buying up the U.S. companies that constitute our industrial base. A modern nation cannot equip it's military or support it's population with out a domestic policy that protects it's own economy.

I don't condone insanity any more than the next guy, and I know Putin has 10,000 nukes, hell it only takes a couple. You think we don't remember who ran the former Soviet Union and know they are still running it's retooled version. It's is on the brink of a disaster any way you look at it, and the blogbaba is old school. The European Union is Germany's front, we know they accomplished with Euro's what Hitler failed to do with bullets and gas chambers. I sit hear and listen these people compare my chimp looking little Texan in the White House to Hitler and want to retch.

If Bush ever said anything I respected it was "You are either with us or against us". Show the rest of the world at least we were serious and not just a bunch of theiving neo-con war profiteering scum. If we got to go, at least go with empty chambers.

Yes you are right and people think I am being unfair to Americans when point out these details. Yes the UK, having been robbing the Middle East of oil - never paying any royalties - and then having democratically elected governments look to nationalization as a way to get rid of the UK parasites. The British then called on the good old USA to help them secure the oil and they did and the oil company resulting was B/A - British/American oil. There is so much the UK and the US refuse to acknowledge.

confident, it grew to become into all a lie. even with the actuality that each and each intelligence business enterprise interior the international believed precisely the comparable difficulty. even with the actuality that bill Clinton used the comparable intelligence to justify his bombing marketing campaign in 1998. even with the actuality that the UN inspectors admit that they've been hiding WMD. Do you easily think of ALL of those human beings have been incorrect, or is it lots greater probable that Saddam moved his weapons in another united states of america via fact he in no way concept they'd capture him? Saddam deliberate to return to skill after some years on the run. Had he no longer been captured, you are able to wager your boots that he would have informed the destiny insurgents to place low and allow usa depart so he could return to skill.

There are many differences from the cold war games and al-qaeda. The most obvious one is that you can not find a certain team, even for negotiations. Even if you decide to surrender and pay them money and give them what they want, you can not find anyone to agree with. You will make peace with some Islamic team and you will have to go to war next morning with another. That is because they have "orders" from Allah for continuous fighting. The price is heavy to fight such a war. Many people demonstrate against it! That is OK, but where are the Muslims or the organizations, that they are saying thanks? Nowhere! We all see USA in one side. Who is in the opposite side?

You all miss the real dangers.

We are entering the age of counter-counter-terrorism.

Which means we have moved beyond fear of mere terrorists.
We have moved beyond fear of our governments.

Your grandparents called it the great depression.

For a historical perspective read the Torah(or old testament).
Read the Qu'ran. Then read the new testament- any version(bible). Best to read in chronological order as listed.

Any questions?

Try that see what reaction you get.

Because most Americans are ignorant of history, and W has built his whole political career preying on the voters' stupidity.

Which is sort of ironic, if you think about it.

What's important is that fear sells. Nationalism sells. Xenophobia sells. W is just using the same time-proven tactics for building a national unity of purpose like those who went before him - Hitler comes to mind.

Any student of history knows that our history of interventionism has harmed our national security much more than it's helped (your example of Operation Ajax was perfect, our imposition of the Shah of Iran to evict the democratic government of Iran in 1953 - which ultimately led to the popular Islamic revolution of 1979) - and our present adventure in Iraq is bound to pay costly dividends for decades to come.

It's just mind-bending how ignorant most people are about Iran.

The "threat" we were fighting in Iran in 1953 wasn't Islamic - it was economic. The Iranians were sick of having foreigners control the oil revenues - and had decided to nationalize their oil industry. The Brits and U.S. would have nothing of it - so we took down that democratically elected government. The Islamists came decades later - in response to decades of brutal U.S. supported repression by the Shah. When you invest in hatred and oppression, that's exactly what you get. As you sow so shall you reap. Some book I read said that.
