M&Ms are going crazy right now. Mars (the parent company) is making personalized M&Ms, with either a personalized message and/or color on them.
They're also making Dark (dark chocolate) M&Ms. They're moving too quicky to introduce new products without proper oversight. I would not say that M&Ms are dangerous, but I wouldn't be surprised if I saw one of these 'new' M&Ms in a regular bag.
Call Mars if you're concerned, but it's not a big deal. I have a hard time believing that they're mutilating their brand, but that's what they seem to be doing.

i remember them doing something like that a while back, my advice is dont eat it an keep the bag then go to their website
