I want to be a wedding planner/events coordinator. I'm only seventeen and there are no college courses near where I live, does any one know of another way to get into this type of job?

Im currently working in a job which I dont enjoy and the careers staff at my school didn't have any ideas!

I would say go to your career center or guidance counselor in your school. Ask if they know of any event planners that you could interview. Or call local event planners/wedding planners and ask if you could interview them. Find out how they started in the business. Maybe you could work for them for the summer and get some experience.

Try the Yahoo search engine and type "wedding planner." They have all of the info on that.

try any local hotel chain that has conference/wedding facilities as a trainee and see if they can help with your training.
