Ok, well hotels are not cheap. If you want to stay in the City you'll have to book into a youth hostel. There are many of these of Gardner Street which is right in the heart of Dublin city by the Liffey. There are a number of them. Have you tried Browns hostel?
March isn't a busy time so they couldn't all be full, that's weird.
Another option is a B&B/Guesthouse. Ashfield house, Four Courts Hostel, Globe Trotters and City Hostels are just a few. Look up http://www.dublinevents.com/dublin-hostels.php for more. Avoid the Mount Joy area, not too safe.
Last resort would be to book a B&B just outside the city and there are soooo many along all the bus routes so don't worry, you'll find some. Also, if you are a student bring your student ID and you might get a discount. Enjoy!

Sorry to say, but you are finding limited vacancies due to the last min. planning of arranging your accommodations.
Plus less than $100.00 per night, that is nothing if you really think about it. Look how much less than $100 gets you here. Places I wouldn't even consider in staying at cost $60 - 70 dollars.
I say when you find something book it. You are leaving in JUST over a month, that is very last min for Europe reservations, or well many places really.
Good Luck, I think your going to need it!

The best way is to sort all the hotels by price and location on this directory.
Then dig deeper to find what they include regarding location, meals, facilities and amenities to compare value.

Very expensive, regrettably. once you're in the city center you are able to assume to pay: €3.50- €6.00 for a pint of a few thing. €4.00- €8.00 for pictures or spirits and mixer. €5.00- €12.00 for cocktails. Temple bar is the most expensive position in the city, so stay faraway from there. dissimilar pubs do specials and that is properly worth searching for them.
